DISH DRAINER – It is good to have new dishrack & rainboard. Two suggestions: The drain board needs to be the type made to go over our top mounted sink. And, at least for our family, it needs to be “large” (15 ½ x 19 – like the old one), and the rack a large size, too. For the 10-12 we had at each meal, the new rack was quite inadequate. We looked at every store we could think of & found none that was made for a top mounted sink drain board. Sue & I will look online. We are responsible for overloading & silverware holder got broken. Sorry! Kent measured for W/D at secondary fridge location. Stopped by Heber appliance & found 24” GE model will fit. (Better price elsewhere). Spec sheet pinned to wall above fridge. We will need to figure out how to remove the old fridge. It appears the walls were built around it.

We are enjoying our time at Pines Ranch! The gate has been unlocked since we arrived as the pasture is being used as a heliport for a fire on the other side of mtn. toward Smith-Moorehouse Reservoir. Firemen are camping out there, and we are happy it is just firemen and no fire! Also, tree trimmers are here to remove branches near power lines throughout Pines Ranch. Jamaica saw a small eagle on front deck, or back deck, (near the river), and a small deer has been seen a few times on the grass. THANK YOU to whomever purchased new hose. :) FYI – I threw out expired spices, toiletries, and2 moldy bathtub mats and a moldy bath rug from under bathroom sink. I replaced shower curtain liner, bathtub stopper, and sink baskets, and bath tub mat. We enjoyed a surprise visit from Jeff and Reesa Cornwall and Wendy & Walter (4 months). Jeff rode his bike from Provo one morning; Reesa his “support vehicle.” We enjoyed a fun afternoon and evening visit with Kurt, Tevin, Trent & Kayla, Travis & Rachel & Benjamin (7 mos), Tyler & Cecilly, and had BQ dinner and smores. (Cherie and Tiffany were on their way to Canada.) We celebrated Isabelle’s 17th birthday. And we played FARKLE! We had a delicious gluten-free breakfast at The Oakley Road Island Diner; great food & service & ambiance. The weather here is absolutely beautiful. Texas is very hot & humid in August. It’s fun t put on a sweatshirt to go out and see the stars. Wow! And to put on an extra blanket at night, and warm slippers and clothes for breakfast. THANK YOU for new lo-flo toilet!!! Great!!! CAUTION! Microwave oven turned ON spontaneously a few times. It could have been my dad saying “hi,” or it could be time to replace it. Keep reaker OFF until replaced. DO NOT store food in there!

The BULLET HOLE window panes have been replaced – 3) Dining Rm, 1) Living Rm, 1) Kitchen Sink, 1) Downstairs Twin Bedroom, 1) Upstairs Middle Bedroom. Do NOT open these windows until glazing compound is set – several weeks. (These windows are marked w/blue tape.) * TUB FAUCET is replaced. It is water conserving so the flow is not large. Shower works great. Do NOT crank handles. These are washerless ¼ turn valvues. Cranking hard will break units & NOT be effective in stopping drips. CHIMNEY FLASHING Repaired. We had several rains this week. On the one downpour we found leaks attributable to the chimney. The entire roofing-to- chimney flashing is re-mastered. There looked to be an obvious crack/opening on the east cricket valley – which is where the leak was. This spot was well repaired. We had no rain after the repairs so the repairs remain untested. Repaird outside WOODBOX lid (which was broken in half.) Cleaned out entire woodbox. Added drain holes. Swept ROOF of pine needles. SHED DOORKNOB stopped functioning. It was dismantled, oiled, reassembled & seems to be operating fine. LAWN was lush and ong when we arrived. Cut 6/9. Rain kept it nice. Sun & fair weather the last few days has dried things out. *Do not wash newly glazed windows for several weeks to let the glazing compound set & not be damaged by cleaning. We saw a MOOSE! A moose walked past the cabin along the river – young bull –one morning. OARS are missing CELL BOOSTER did not seem to be effective when we arrived. It was rebooted by unplugging the power connection for a minute. For the rest of the week, those of us with Verizon got cell service.
